Welcome to Pic of the week! Our weekly series focusing on the all the wonderful photographs by you!
Our latest Pic of the week gets up close and personal with a macro shot of a knot on an oak tree, compliments of PhotoBox member, Gareth Pye. His A Collection Of Macro Photographs Public Album features a couple of dozen macro photos of mostly flowers and trees but also intriguing shots of everyday items, such as a handful of screws. What’s macro photography? Essentially, it’s close-up photography. Common subjects include insects and plants. Macro photography is brilliant for zooming in on the ‘landscape’ of an otherwise ordinary-looking object – just as Gareth Pye has done with his Oak Knot shot and the other objects on view in his album.
