Photo T-shirt treat for pride competition entrants

Back at the beginning of the week we asked you to share with us what makes you proud. We were instantly inundated on our Facebook wall with lots of really heart-warming comments. It seems you’ve plenty of be proud of, so we have a special treat for 150 of you!   First up here’s the wonderful winner of our pride competition. Harriet Palmer shared this gorgeous photo of her mum Jan, a Marie Curie Hospice nurse. Harriet says, ‘She makes me unconditionally proud of her every day with the nature of her work and how she always remains so positive. She looks after terminally ill patients and ensures that their last moments are some of their most comfortable and the happiest they experience’. Congratulations to Harriet and her mum, your prize is a glorious Canvas Print. Talking of prizes, we’ve got a huge pile of free Photo T-shirts for those who entered the competition, but you’ve got to be quick. Everyone who added a pride comment and/or photo to our Facebook wall has a chance to win. Gone to our homepage recently, noticed something different? Heck yes, our photography is changing for the better. It’s out with the choreographed, staged and frankly plastic feel of our imagery, in with the real deal – photos of products made by you, genuine smiles and the day to day joy that comes from looking at photographs you love.     So my lovelies this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. We kicked started it with our PhotoBox at home comp, but you are not off the hook yet, we plan to make this the theme of our entire shop all year round, but have a long way to go! I scratch your back, you scratch mine Love photography? Love showcasing your pride and joy, be it your kids, a memorable moment, your photo skills, creativity? Well you are in luck! Your photos could be seen by millions on our website, newsletter and ads across the web – always credited to you and rewarded like you deserve. Nice eh?   What are we looking for? PhotoBox@Home -Please share photos that show how we (PhotoBox) have made ourselves part of your home and family, like the ones currently on our homepage. Myprideandjoy – Share with us the kind of photos you just have to print, as it would be a crime to keep them behind a computer screen. Just post the words PhotoBox@Home or Myprideandjoy along with your photos on our Facebook wall at anytime (no deadline for this one) and we’ll look to showcase them where possible. We asked for your finest photos showcasing our PhotoBox products. The winning photos are fantastic and really capture the joy of PhotoBox personalised gifts. They are just what we wanted. Face Britain featured on Blue Peter

Last night the children’s TV institution that is Blue Peter featured our exciting Face Britain campaign, which is set to be the UK’s biggest ever collaborative art project.     The fantastic five-minute slot saw the presenters showcase a range of already submitted self portraits in various styles with top illustrator, designer and Face Britain ambassador Daisy de Villeneuve. Daisy is famous for her iconic felt tip designs for Topshop to Vogue, so she was the perfect person to comment on these wonderful mini masterpieces. Check out the Blue Peter clip for yourself.       For this amazing project, set up by the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, we currently have over 800 self-portraits in our gallery, highlighting in a wonderfully creative way what incredibly talented kids we have in this country. See them here at and then click on ‘gallery’ in the top right.     These amazing portraits will be will be showcased online and become famous as a special historic mosaic portrait of HM The Queen. Along with celebrity entries from the likes of Tracey Emin, Fearne Cotton, Jeremy Irons and Alan Rickman, the images will be projected onto Buckingham Palace itself. If that wasn’t enough excitement, these portraits will also be displayed on all BBC Big Screens across the UK as part of the Diamond Jubilee and on JC Decaux digital advertising screens nationwide!
