Face Britain featured on Blue Peter

October 19, 2011
Last night the children’s TV institution that is Blue Peter featured our exciting Face Britain campaign, which is set to be the UK’s biggest ever collaborative art project.     The fantastic five-minute slot saw the presenters showcase a range of already submitted self portraits in various styles with top illustrator, designer and Face Britain ambassador Daisy de Villeneuve. Daisy is famous for her iconic felt tip designs for Topshop to Vogue, so she was the perfect person to comment on these wonderful mini masterpieces. Check out the Blue Peter clip for yourself.       For this amazing project, set up by the Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, we currently have over 800 self-portraits in our gallery, highlighting in a wonderfully creative way what incredibly talented kids we have in this country. See them here at and then click on ‘gallery’ in the top right.     These amazing portraits will be will be showcased online and become famous as a special historic mosaic portrait of HM The Queen. Along with celebrity entries from the likes of Tracey Emin, Fearne Cotton, Jeremy Irons and Alan Rickman, the images will be projected onto Buckingham Palace itself. If that wasn’t enough excitement, these portraits will also be displayed on all BBC Big Screens across the UK as part of the Diamond Jubilee and on JC Decaux digital advertising screens nationwide!

Win prizes for your PhotoBox photos

October 11, 2011
Ok it’s happened. It’s the first time I’ve mentioned Christmas this year! No surprises for guessing that they’ll be a lot of talk about it from here on in though.     As we put together the preparations for dressing our Christmas shop we got thinking. What we do is all about you and your photos, so why not add more of your photos to our site, and therefore our next competition idea is just that! We want you to feature in our campaign and to tempt you we’ve got a host of £40 PhotoBox Gift Vouchers up for grabs. We’re looking for photos full of joy just like the ones shown here. After our recent 50% off sale we know lots of you have loads of PhotoBox goodies to share with us!     We’ll be awarding prizes for the best photo of: Christmas (featuring a mixture of PhotoBox products), PhotoBox Photo Book, PhotoBox Calendar, PhotoBox Christmas Cards, PhotoBox Christmas Prints, PhotoBox Wall Decor, PhotoBox Stationery, PhotoBox Homegifts  and PhotoBox clothing.     You can enter by posting as many photos as you like for this one on our Facebook wall but they must be your own photos and we need landscape oriented photos (like those shown here). Thanks to Emma Rachael Sealey for turning her home into an early Christmas wonderland and really confusing her kids! Your photos don’t have to be Christmas themed. Photos of giving and receiving PhotoBox goodies would be brilliant. Deadline is midnight Sunday 16th October, but the sooner the better. Really looking forward to seeing your photos

Attention please pure genius in the house

October 10, 2011
I’ve really enjoyed our ‘Pure Genius’ competition. It proved what I already knew, that you guys really are pure genius! Lots of great and very varied ideas going on for this one but a firm favourite has been agreed on. Ok drum roll time as I proudly announced our winner…….it’s…..Bex Saunders. Nice one Bex you’ve won a £40 PhotoBox Gift Voucher.     Her caption was, ‘Without cameras and photos we wouldn’t be able to see the pure genius of PhotoBox’s products’. Ok so this is proof that a bit of flattery goes a long way but she’s right, the genius of what you capture on camera is what we’re all about. It’s also beautifully shot and brings to mind the sense of potential and possibilities behind every camera. Inspiring stuff, enjoy your prize. Talking of inspiring, I also have a special prize of a £15 PhotoBox Gift Voucher for the lovely Lyn Foggon.     We love this photo of your son Steven’s sheer delight at the news that his school has graded him 2 years above his age in chemistry and they think he shows fantastic ability in the subject. He’s pictured here holding his invite to the school’s gifted and talented program. As Jo Dane commented on our wall, ‘I don’t think he could smile any wider if he tried, well done Steven!’ Lyn I’m sure you’ll share the prize with him after all his hard work. No wonder you’re bursting with pride. Bex and Lyn please email us at with your email account and we’ll pop your vouchers in the post for you. I’ve got another competition idea up my sleeve to share with you tomorrow! Until then have fun!
