I made the most of the weekend sunshine by going along to Kew Gardens, to see the wonderful winners of the International Garden Photographer of the Year.
PhotoBox was proud to sponsor the competition again this year so I was particularly pleased to hear the shortlisted entries on show were chosen from a mammoth 14,000 competition entries. Wow, that really must have taken some serious judging! Here’s the winner, ‘Sea Thrift Flowers’ taken by Colin Roberts.
If you get chance to go before 25th September I really recommend it. Fantastic photos in a very picturesque setting, what more could photography fans ask for? The variety was extraordinary this year with some photos really leaping out to grab your attention, whilst other slow burners proved equally impressive once studied. I particularly enjoyed reading the stories behind the photos, as this always brings them to life for me.
Fancy winning £5000? Well that’s the prize for next year’s winner of the International Garden Photographer of the Year. The competition is already open, so give it a go today!
