International Children’s Book Day is celebrated around the world on the 2nd April. The date represents the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish author remembered for his famous fairy tales. The occasion itself is used to inspire and celebrate a love of reading and to commemorate the importance of child literature and learning to read.
Here at PhotoBox we’re big lovers of photos (of course) and we thought it would be a lovely idea to celebrate International Children’s Book Day by combining photos and books!
Our Photo Books are a great way to treasure your favourite photos but also to turn them into their very own story. So, we thought we’d put our ideas to the test…
After collating the several hundred photos I had stored of my godson (he’s just too cute I can’t delete them!) I uploaded them in chronological order and thus the concept for ‘The Adventures of Alex‘ was born!
I went with our A4 Personalised Portrait Photo Book with the gorgeous nautical theme but there are lots to choose between. This particular photo book comes with the option of a matte cover for a great finishing touch and is also a nice size for a children’s book – big enough to show off their best pictures but also affordable and incredibly easy to create.
The beautiful photo book meant I could lay out all of Alex’s best moments since he was born and narrate each of them with little bits of text – his very own story! It also acted as a great way for him to interact with reading and learning whilst enjoying pictures of himself and all his buddies. The novelty of seeing pictures of himself in a book was worth any time spent creating it as he absolutely loved it.
Why not try creating your own adventures for the mini ones? We’d love to see what you come up with. Share your creation snaps with us using #MyPhotoBox on Facebook or Instagram for your chance to win PhotoBox goodies. Happy creating, PhotoBox-ers!
